Blackberry Playbook and iPhone IOS versions

Mobile is working great on our new mobile site and every mobile device we tested on so far is being redirected except the Blackberry Playbook. I noticed the earlier thread that the Playbook should be supported, but i couldn't get it to redirect on a brand new device. Could it have a different user agent?

Also, is there any way to detect iPhone by IOS version? I added audio tags that I only want to show to IOS 4+ since earlier versions don't support inline audio.

Thanks for a great add-on!

    Hi,

I'd need to take another look at the useragent string for the playbook, but just to be on the safe side, could you visit this url on your Playbook so I have the exact UA string that device uses. I get sent a basic report about the device by e-mail, so you don't have to post it here.

About the iPhone versions... Mobile currently doesn't support version checking, so I'd recommend using something like Modernizr to take care of the browser support. You could also place a link to the file inside the audio tag to have that function as a fallback for devices that don't support the audio tag.

    Hi Wouter,
I don't own a Playbook, I just spent a couple of hours testing various devices at a local store. The Playbook was the only one that didn't redirect. I'll see if I can go and visit the url later today or tomorrow, so you can check the useragent string.

Thanks for the audio tag suggestions, I'll try those.

I see... PlayBook has the following UA string:

    Mozilla/5.0 (PlayBook; U; RIM Tablet OS 2.0.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/535.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.2.0.0 Safari/535.8+

I didn't have anything in the library that would match with that... I just pushed a new version (v0.9.1) to the gitHub repository.

    Hi George,

I just noticed the was a small bug in the version I uploaded, so I fixed it and pushed another version (v0.9.2) to GitHub. If you've already downloaded it, you should grab the newest version again.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Wouter, I totally skipped your message. Anyway, I checked and Mobile now works with the Playbook as well. Thanks again,
