How do you generate those URL's? With the
{path=''}

tag or manually using

{segment_1}/{segment_2}/etc...
?

to generate the unique URL and I cut and paste it into the HTML
email temple which I send through the EE2 email module.

Attached is the email template and the html message.

[admin edit] I removed the file you attached as it contained
loads of e-mail addresses which, I'm pretty sure, you don't want to
end up in the wrong hands.

Riktag:support.baseworks.nl,2011-05-09:Comment/179920302012-08-16T17:50:34Z2012-08-16T17:50:34Zhyperlinks issue with smartphones

Hi Rik,

I'm not sure you correctly understood how this add-on works.
Your URL's on mobile devices aren't supposed to be different from
the desktop version. When a visitor lands on a page that has a
mobile template alternative, it will serve that up instead of the
regular template.

So when visiting

/index.php/music_artists_bands/about/susan_toney
with
a mobile device, instead of serving up the

music_artists_bands/about
template it will check if

mobile__music_artists_bands/about
exists and serve
that up instead.

That is why I asked how you where generating those URL's,
because the visitor is never supposed to see the
mobile__ part.

– Wouter

Wouter Vervloettag:support.baseworks.nl,2011-05-09:Comment/179920302012-08-16T18:32:50Z2012-08-16T18:32:50Zhyperlinks issue with smartphones

Wouter - Thanks for your help on this. I will try to explain.
Your add-on
works as you say when you type in the url in a smartphone. It takes
users
to my mobile templates which have been optimized for a mobile
browser.

The problem I am having is that when I send out an email with
the "desktop"
hyperlink and you click on the link from a smartphone the target
URL in the
gets truncated. I loose the last segment which
identifies the
entry title. So in this example I am using the google url builder
tool to
assist in tracking.

I cut and paste the following into the html of the
email.....

http://country-cooperative.com/index.php/music_artists_bands/about/rock_ridge_bluegrass_band?utm_source=Rock%2BRidge%2BBluegrass%2BBand&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Americana%2BMusic

When the email is viewed on a smartphone and the user clicks on
the link
they are taken here......

http://country-cooperative.com/index.php/mobile__music_artists_bands/about

As you can see "mobile_" is being added correctly but I am
loosing the rest
of the address.

I will forward you an example in another email so you can see
what I mean.

iPad (which you should be able to see in your statistics).

Mobile doesn't really do anything with the URL and certain
doesn't truncate it, so could there be something else causing it?
Like a redirect in the

mobile__music_artists_bands/about
template?

Just to let you know, I've just uploaded a new version of Mobile
to GitHub (v0.9.5) which solves another (unrelated) issue, so be
sure to grab a fresh copy as well.

Could you perhaps give me (temporary) access to the CMS so I can
take a look at your templates? That way I will be able to help you
out a lot better.

If you are willing to give me access, you can send the account
information to wouter [at] baseworks [dot] nl (don't post it here
as it is a public forum).
