with the Rails work I am involved in But to see this type of css
parsing tool available paired with EE is yes again amazing.

I am seeing some extra semi-colons in the parsed css file. Is
this something that indicates a bug, improper set up or is this
expected?

Here's a sample of what I see when I view source:

p {
color: red; text-decoration: underline;; } p span {

font-weight: bold;;
color: #3399ff;
text-decoration: none;; }

Thanks for your attention and contribution to the EE
community.

Joshtag:support.baseworks.nl,2011-05-09:Comment/85762702011-07-13T06:25:05Z2011-07-13T06:25:05ZExtra Semi-colons

Hi Josh,

This is weird, your message was somehow marked as spam... Thank
you for the ego-boost, it means a lot to me. :)

I'm using the PHAMLP library to parse the
SASS files, so this is something on their end.

Could you perhaps paste the source of your example above, so I
can test it. I'm not getting it and I can't find any bugs regarding
your issue.

Here's the sass source example test I did:

p {
color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline; span {

font-weight: bold;
color: #3399ff;
text-decoration: none;

} }

and the output to my site.css

p {
color: red; text-decoration: underline;; } p span {

font-weight: bold;;
color: #3399ff;
text-decoration: none;; }

I think I see what's going on here... you are using the newer
syntax (SCSS), but are parsing it as SASS. Try renaming your source
file to *.scss or specifically setting the syntax to SCSS.

The main difference is that SASS uses indentation to define
blocks and SCSS uses curly braces (just like CSS) to define those
same blocks. You can find some more about it in the SASS
documentation

I advise you to use SCSS as syntax as it is the 'newer' one and
just easier to use.

Thanks :)

BTW is it possible to use Compass with this setup?

Joshtag:support.baseworks.nl,2011-05-09:Comment/85762702011-07-15T18:07:50Z2011-07-15T18:07:50ZExtra Semi-colons

Hi Josh, glad it all worked out.

I'm not sure about Compass. I will have to investigate a bit
further, but that'll have to wait till after the weekend.

I've looked into Compass and decided not to include support for
it. Since Compass is a Ruby specific component you need Ruby
installed on your server to support it. Therefore I cannot
guarantee that it will work with Sassee, so no official support
form my end.

I'm going to close this ticket, but you can reopen it if you
need, or open a new ticket if you have more questions.
